You have reached Solus Gavus, Theater Director. Leave a message, unless you're trying to skip out of rehearsal. Save the excuses and just show up, alright?
I am a fiscally-responsible citizen, if that's what you're wondering.
[ She digs around in her pockets and waves a checkbook holder around to demonstrate that she is Prepared to Contribute. As she waves it around, it's clear from how it bulges and the stray receipts sticking out that she's using it as a wallet. ]
Here you are. I believe you shall find everything in order.
[ It may or may not come as a comfort to note that Yenh has written one check for practice or for fun, as she made it out to The Father Of Dragons, Midgardsormr. The numerical amount is a bunch of symbols she drew, and the written amount is 'how many wild boar could he eat?' She wrote in the 'notes' field 'trying it out.' Her handwriting is a somehow-readable scrawl. The rest of the contents are her debit card, several coffee shop punch cards from different cities in various stages of use, a De Chima library card, and receipts for the purchase of pretty much everything she has eaten in the past week. She appears to favor hole-in-the-wall restaurants. ]
[In order was a way to put it. A way that was factually dubious.] Do you still not have an identification card...?
[He stares at the check, and then gazes at her.] As sure that I am that Midgarsormr would be happy to have you pay for his meal, none of this is real proof that you're financially secure. Though, you will be moving cities, perhaps I should offer to do the gentlemanly thing and subsidize your costs.
[ Yenh digs into her other pocket and pulls out a valid Virginia driver's license. She looks like she's about to sneeze in the portrait. ]
You truly needn't do such a thing. One moment- [ She opens her phone and spends a painstaking amount of time finding an app and typing her password in. She shows him the amount in her bank account. She really doesn't appear to spend much money at all, other than those triple portions of Szechuan beef. ]
[He watches her do this and does his best to not lose patience. It would be far more annoying to try to negotiate this later.]
[Also she has more money than he does, but he can't seem to stop spending it. So.]
Well, well. I take my words back, then. [The absurdity of this situation is starting to settle in, but he mentally bats it away. This may as well happen.]
[He mentally resigns himself to the fact that it will be him keeping track of bills and whatnot. Whatever, that's fine. He'd mastered the ability to balance all of those things without a thought thousands of years ago. He snags his glass on the way out.]
Oh yes, you're driving. I've got to put my face back on. [...Plus he's drunk. He tosses his keys to her as he walks out of the theater, frowning as he tugs his jeans up. He digs into the back seat and finds.. trousers and a belt still looped into it. He separates the two and belts his pants up before taking a seat in the passenger side. It takes him a moment to find a comfortable way to sit with his tail.]
These— Damn tails! I half considered wearing a dress today.
[ Yenh snatches the keys from the air and gives him a grin. ]
Very well. [ Glad to have a chance to drive, she takes her time adjusting the seat and mirrors. Yenh gives him more time to get settled with his tail by checking her teeth in the mirror. ]
You could have, truly. They're comfortable enough. [ And once he's ready, she starts up the car. ] Where are we going?
[He digs his phone out and unlike Yenh, doesn’t fumble as he finds what he’s looking for. He relays the directions before pulling his make up bag into his lap. He sighs as he looks at himself in the mirror and pulls on his eye bags. He does a pretty good job, especially considering being in a moving car.... ]
